General Warranty Overview
ASUS manufacturer’s warranty is a limited warranty. Hardware, manufacturing, or power related issues are covered under this limited warranty.This limited warranty does not cover any third-party software applications and or programs; non-ASUS products and or non-ASUS branded peripherals.
ASUS guarantees that the product you have purchased is free from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use during the Limited Warranty Period.You are entitled to a hardware warranty service if a repair is required within the limited warranty period.
During the limited warranty period, ASUS will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any defective component.All spare-parts or module removed under this limited warranty become the property of ASUS.
Warranty service does not include:
- New retail box replacement
- Credit
- Upgrades or model changes
- Refunds

This applies to ASUS Notebook products sold and purchased in North America only. This warranty applies only to products that are new on the date of purchase from an authorized ASUS product reseller. Please keep the original purchase invoice and warranty card for future service requests. The warranty does not cover any moni¬tor, batteries, free or special bundled accessories, which may have been delivered together with your ASUS Notebook.
ASUS warrants Notebook (Products) excluding (free) bundled ac¬cessories that may be delivered together with the Product, to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 12, 24 or 36 month(s) depending on your specific model. If the product fails during normal and proper use within the warranty period ASUS will, subject to exclusions and at ASUS’ discretion, repair or replace the product or components. Any products and or components repaired or replaced by ASUS will be under warranty for the remaining period of warranty or for no less than 3 months. This warranty applies only to products that are new on the date of purchase from an authorized ASUS product reseller. The Notebook product line is covered under a parts and labor repair or buffer exchange warranty for hardware, manufacturing, and/or power related issues, excluding power surges and/or electrical spikes. This ASUS warranty does not include failure caused by improper installation, operation, cleaning or maintenance, accident, damage, misuse, abuse, non- ASUS modifications to the product, any software programs, normal wear and tear or any other event, act, default or omission outside ASUS’ control.
Software Support
Your ASUS product is supplied with pre-installed software. If you have any related technical problems when using your ASUS product, we suggest you check the manual or ASUS support web site to carry out preliminary trouble shooting. ASUS will be limited to support your product if the operating system has been altered. Third party software may require support from such vendors.
Notebook Shipping Terms
ASUS Notebook products feature one-way ground shipping terms. Customer shall be responsible for any and all freight costs associated with sending in your product for service, and ASUS will cover the freight cost of shipping back to the customer after warranty service and/or repairs are completed.
Accidental Damage Protection (ADP)
ASUS Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) covers liquid spills, drops, and fires. Scenarios not covered (but not limited to) by the ADP terms are: scratches and dents, incorrect or inadequate customer installation, lost or stolen products, intentional or unintentional damage, recovery or transfer of stored data to the product, requests for miscellaneous cables or accessories, and damages caused by acts of God or nature. Filing a claim depends on prior validation and approval by ASUS. In order to make an ADP claim, you will have to provide an explanation of where and when the accident occurred as well as a detailed description of the incident. Failure to provide this information will result in claim denial. You are responsible to pay for one-way shipping to a designated ASUS Service Site, and ASUS will cover the costs of returning the unit to your originating address within the United States and Canada only. ASUS International Warranty
ASUS International Warranty offers 12 month limited warranty service for parts and labor repair worldwide for select notebooks. Warranty service starts on the date of purchase and is only applicable to countries that have authorized ASUS Repair Centers. Please visit www.asus.com for additional information.
General Product Warranty Service Terms
During the Limited Warranty Period as stated above, ASUS will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any defective component. All spare parts or modules removed under this limited warranty period become the property of ASUS. The terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty constitute the complete and exclusive warranty agreement between you and ASUS for the product and supersede any prior agreement or representations made in any ASUS sales document, literature or advice that may be provided to the customer by any ASUS representative in connection with the customer’s purchase of the product. No change to the conditions of this Limited Warranty is valid unless it is made in writing and signed by an authorized ASUS representative.
Zero Bright Dot (ZBD) Guarantee
A bright dot refers to a pixel with a defect in its ability to display the correct color output. Notebooks with one or more bright dot within 30 days of original purchase date will qualify for a free panel exchange. The ZBD policy does not cover LCD panels with dead pixels e.g. dark/black dot type. Only the LCD panel will be replaced, not the entire notebook. Please refer to your authorized ASUS Service Center or Reseller for your product specific terms.
Limitations of Liability
If the product fails during normal and proper use within the warranty period, ASUS will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective parts within the product, or the product itself, with items that are functionally equivalent to that as originally supplied, or better, during the warranty period defined for the model, using new or refurbished parts or units. If the product is under warranty, the ownership of the replaced defec¬tive parts will automatically be transferred to ASUS. All components repaired or replaced by ASUS will be under warranty for the remaining period of your warranty. ASUS will recover the originally configured operating system bundled with the product if the hard drive is to be replaced. ASUS will not be liable to restore or transfer the user’s data or programs from the original hard disk.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, AND ASUS SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Exclusions from this Limited Warranty Service
ASUS does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of this product. Any technical or other support provided for the product under warranty, such as assistance via telephone with “how-to” questions and those regarding product setup and information will be provided without warranties of any kind. The warranty only covers failures or malfunctions that occur during the warranty period and under normal use conditions as well as any material or workmanship defect.
The warranty will not apply to or be valid under conditions including but not limited to the following:
- a) The serial number of the ASUS product, components or accessories has been altered, cancelled, removed, or otherwise not valid as identified by ASUS;
- b) The product has been tampered with, repaired and/or modified by non-authorized personnel;
- c) The product warranty seals have been broken or altered;
- d) There is damage caused by natural disaster, intentional or unintentional misuse, abuse, neglect, acts of war, improper maintenance, or use under abnormal conditions;
- e) There is damage caused by accidental drops, spills, fire, or power surges.
- f) There is damage from improper installation, improper connection, or use of parts and/or components not manufactured or sold by ASUS;
- g) There is damage from use outside of the operation or storage parameters or environment detailed in the User's Manual or reasonably acceptable for similar product usage models deemed industry standard best practices;
- h) There is damage to or loss of any program, data or removable storage media, or if there are costs from recovering any program or data;
- i) There is damage from third party software or from virus(es);
- j) There is software loss or data loss that may occur during repair or replacement.
- k) Support and costs involved to install or configure the product for any third party software application or hardware device, or network/wireless configuration.
- l) Due to technology limitations, some devices (e.g. DVD ROM and software player may not play certain titles if applicable to your product) may be limited or not compatible with the ASUS product. These limitations are common to defined standards within the hardware industry and are not specific to your ASUS product.
- m) You have failed to follow all return materials authorization (“RMA”) instructions provided to you by ASUS.
If Service is required:
Returning your product to ASUS during the warranty period does not automatically mean that it will be repaired free of charge. Upon receiv¬ing your product, ASUS reserves the right to check the validity of your warranty and your request for warranty service. Neither ASUS, ASUS’ Service Centers, ASUS’ Authorized Service Providers, nor your autho¬rized ASUS product reseller are responsible for any of your confidential, proprietary or personal information contained in the product which you return to ASUS for any reason. You should remove all such informa¬tion from the product prior to its return. ASUS is not responsible for damage or loss of any personal data, programs, or removable storage media. ASUS is not responsible for the restoration or reinstallation of any data or programs other than software installed by ASUS when the product was manufactured.
Before contacting ASUS:
- Back up all your personal data and remove any confidential, proprietary information on the hard drive. ASUS will not be responsible for any loss of your own programs, data or information.
- If you received an error message, write it down with the fault description and include it with the product.
- Retrieve the following information from your ASUS product: operating system version, BIOS version, and notify if you have made any recent hardware or software changes.
- Ensure you have the following information readily available: your ASUS product’s model name, serial number, sales invoice/receipt with date of purchase and warranty card. You will be required to provide proof of purchase before warranty service can be performed.
Make sure you are in front of your ASUS product and have your product turned on (if possible) when you call to perform troubleshooting procedures.
When preparing your product for shipment to ASUS, you will need to observe the following
- ASUS recommends that the product be returned in its original packaging. The original packaging will provide better protection for your product during transit. Warranty may be voided if the product is damaged due to improper packaging. Original packaging may not be retuned once service is completed.
- Please do not send in anything but the product itself unless specially requested by ASUS. Any other items and accessories included in the package received by ASUS will be treated as packaging material, and may not be returned.
Please note: if your product is received packed in anything other than its original packaging, ASUS’ Service Site may charge you for appropriate anti-shock packaging when your product is returned.

Software Support
Your ASUS product is supplied with pre-installed software. If you have any related technical problems when using your ASUS product, we suggest you check the manual or ASUS support web site to carry out preliminary trouble shooting. ASUS will be limited to support your product if the operating system has been altered. Third party software may require support from such vendors.
Multimedia Shipping Terms
ASUS Multimedia products feature one-way ground shipping terms. Customer shall be responsible for any and all freight costs associated with sending in your product for service, and ASUS will cover the freight cost of shipping back to the customer after warranty service and/or repairs are completed.
General Product Warranty Service Terms
During the Limited Warranty Period as stated above, ASUS will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace any defective component. All spare parts or modules removed under this limited warranty period become the property of ASUS. The terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty constitute the complete and exclusive warranty agreement between you and ASUS for the product and supersede any prior agreement or representations made in any ASUS sales document, literature or advice that may be provided to the customer by any ASUS representative in connection with the customer’s purchase of the product. No change to the conditions of this Limited Warranty is valid unless it is made in writing and signed by an authorized ASUS representative.
Limitations of Liability

ASUS will recover the originally configured operating system bundled with the product if the hard drive is to be replaced. North America Region Optional Service Program Terms
Warranty Extension Program Service Policy
The Warranty Extension Program can only be purchased in the country where you originally bought your brand-new ASUS product from an authorized ASUS reseller or distributor. The registration window after purchasing is ninety (90) days from your invoice date. You are required to keep both (i.) the proof of purchase of the product and (ii.) the proof of purchase of the Warranty Extension Program for reference if future service requests are required. The Warranty Extension Program and services offered only applies to the ASUS products’ original hardware, excluding software, battery, any external devices, accessories, and any parts not factory installed by ASUS. The Warranty Extension Program does not provide global support. Service is provided following your local standard service policy for the United States and Canada. Only one (1) Warranty Extension Package can be applied for one (1) product. Once your purchased Warranty Extension Program has been activated by ASUS and you have received the warranty certificate there shall be NO REFUNDS, CREDIT, EXCHANGES, and/or DOWNGRADES offered under any circumstances for each ASUS serialized product purchased and the corresponding activated Warranty Extension Program.
WEP Accidental Damage Protection Terms (if applicable)
ASUS Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) covers electrical surges, fires, drops, and liquid spills. Scenarios not covered (but not limited to) by the ADP terms are: scratches and dents, incorrect or inadequate customer installation, lost or stolen products, intentional damage, recovery or transfer of stored data to the product, requests for miscellaneous cables or accessories, and damages caused by acts of God or nature. Filing a claim depends on prior validation and approval by ASUS. Only one (1) ADP claim may be filed per year commencing on the purchase date of your Warranty Extension Program package for the following key parts: LCD panel/Motherboard/CPU/Hard Disk Drive/Optical Disc Drive/Memory module(s). Please note that the following rule shall be strictly followed for allowing only one key part per year per valid ADP claim for a serialized ASUS product for the duration of your entire purchased coverage period. Also note that multiple requests for the same key part within the same ADP claimed year is not allowed. For all other non-key parts such as the chassis (excluding cosmetic defects on exterior panels e.g. scratches, blemishes, discoloration, etc.), the keyboard, and the AC adapter you may apply for an ADP claim multiple times per year per part per serialized ASUS product during the entire purchased coverage period commencing on the purchase date of your Warranty Extension Program package. You are responsible to pay for one-way shipping to a designated ASUS Repair Site, and ASUS will cover the costs of returning the unit to your originating address within the United States and Canada only.
WEP On-Site NBD Limited Hardware Warranty Terms (if applicable)
This On-Site Next Business Day (NBD) Limited Hardware Warranty entitles the sole owner of a qualified ASUS product to receive On-Site NBD service from ASUS authorized repair technicians during the Next Business Day based on prior agreement and confirmation with ASUS Support staff and once scheduled within the Principal Period of Maintenance (PPM), excluding any published US and Canadian holidays, for valid in-warranty repair service of the qualified equipment during the entire purchased coverage period commencing on the purchase date of your Warranty Extension Program package. It applies to ASUS branded products purchased in the United States and Canada only. This warranty applies only to products that are new on the date of purchase from an authorized ASUS product reseller. Please keep the original purchase invoice and warranty card for future service requests.
PPM:
ASUS authorized repair technicians Principal Period of Maintenance (PPM) for service is between 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday, excluding any published US and Canada holidays. ASUS authorized repair technicians shall arrive on-site at the predetermined and agreed upon End User Location during the PPM. End user must be present to confirm and acknowledge any on-site repair service request. ASUS authorized repair technicians will respond on the second business day for any instance where receipt of a service call is after 5:30 p.m. customer local time. On-Site Next Business Day Response Time commitments in Canada are limited to service locations within 30 kilometers of the nearest major metropolitan area.
WEP On-Site NBD Serviceable Areas and Surrounding Territories:
On-Site NBD Limited Hardware Warranty and any applicable services offered shall only apply to the 48 contiguous states within the United States of America including the District of Colombia. The included serviceable area for state of Alaska is a fifty (50) mile radius around the city of Anchorage ONLY. The included serviceable area for the state of Hawaii includes the islands of Maui, Oahu, and Hawaii ONLY. Next Business Day Response Time commitments in Canada are limited to service locations within thirty (30) kilometers of the nearest major metropolitan area. Please note that service to other areas in Canada, Alaska, or Hawaii not explicitly stated in the document shall incur additional travel fees subject to the ASUS, ASUS Authorized Repair technicians, ASUS Authorized vendors and the Client’s prior approval in writing and shall ONLY be scheduled after the payment of additional fees has been received. For cross shipments please provide:
- Proof of ownership of a qualified product with purchase date clearly indicated on your invoice or sales receipt.
- A valid credit card with sufficient funds (if the unit is not received by ASUS within 14 calendar days after receipt of replacement product, your card will be charged the full MSRP value of the product).
Requests for Zero Bright Pixel Defect (ZBD) replacements are accepted for the following Display products:
- PG Series
- LS Series
- PW Series
The Display must be within one (1) year from the manufacture date or else it will be processed under regular RMA terms and conditions. The ZBD pixel defect will be confirmed at an ASUS repair facility. If the unit is received and customer induced damage is found (CID), then the customer will be notified and it will be processed based on the severity of the damage.
If the ZBD pixel defect is found, the unit will be replaced. If a replacement is not available, then a model change will be offered at ASUS discretion. The warranty period on a model change will be based on the original model’s manufacture date. If the ZBD pixel defect is not found, the original unit will be returned in its original condition. After the unit is serviced it will be shipped back free of charge (expedited shipping is available upon request with an additional fee).

If the product fails during normal and proper use within the warranty period, ASUS will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective parts within the product, or the product itself, with items that are functionally equivalent to that as originally supplied, or better, during the warranty period defined for the model, using new or refurbished parts or units. If the product is under warranty, the ownership of the replaced defec¬tive parts will automatically be transferred to ASUS. All components repaired or replaced by ASUS will be under warranty for the remaining period of your warranty. ASUS will recover the originally configured operating system bundled with the product if the hard drive is to be replaced. ASUS will not be liable to restore or transfer the user’s data or programs from the original hard disk.
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, AND ASUS SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
IF THIS PRODUCT FAILS TO WORK AS WARRANTED ABOVE, THE CUSTOMER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND ASUS’ SOLE LIABILITY SHALL BE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. ASUS’ MAXIMUM LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE LESSER OF THE PRICE YOU HAVE PAID FOR THE PRODUCT OR THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY HARDWARE COMPONENTS THAT MALFUNCTION UNDER NORMAL USE. ALL ASUS WARRANTY TERMS AND AGREEMENTS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE AND ONLY APPLY TO THE ORIGINAL UNIT AND ORIGINAL PURCHASER. ASUS IS NOT LIABLE FOR A CLAIM MADE BY A THIRD PARTY OR MADE BY YOU FOR A THIRD PARTY.
Exclusions from this Limited Warranty Service
ASUS does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of this product. Any technical or other support provided for the product under warranty, such as assistance via telephone with “how-to” questions and those regarding product setup and information will be provided without warranties of any kind. The warranty only covers failures or malfunctions that occur during the warranty period and under normal use conditions as well as any material or workmanship defect.
The warranty will not apply to or be valid under conditions including but not limited to the following:
- a) The serial number of the ASUS product, components or accessories has been altered, cancelled, removed, or otherwise not valid as identified by ASUS;
- b) The product has been tampered with, repaired and/or modified by non-authorized personnel;
- c) The product warranty seals have been broken or altered;
- d) There is damage caused by natural disaster, intentional or unintentional misuse, abuse, neglect, acts of war, improper maintenance, or use under abnormal conditions;
- e) There is damage caused by accidental drops, spills, fire, or power surges.
- f) There is damage from improper installation, improper connection, or use of parts and/or components not manufactured or sold by ASUS;
- g) There is damage from use outside of the operation or storage parameters or environment detailed in the User's Manual or reasonably acceptable for similar product usage models deemed industry standard best practices;
- h) There is damage to or loss of any program, data or removable storage media, or if there are costs from recovering any program or data;
- i) There is damage from third party software or from virus(es);
- j) There is software loss or data loss that may occur during repair or replacement.
- k) Support and costs involved to install or configure the product for any third party software application or hardware device, or network/wireless configuration.
- l) Due to technology limitations, some devices (e.g. DVD ROM and software player may not play certain titles if applicable to your product) may be limited or not compatible with the ASUS product. These limitations are common to defined standards within the hardware industry and are not specific to your ASUS product.
- m) You have failed to follow all return materials authorization (“RMA”) instructions provided to you by ASUS.
If Service is required:
Returning your product to ASUS during the warranty period does not automatically mean that it will be repaired free of charge. Upon receiv¬ing your product, ASUS reserves the right to check the validity of your warranty and your request for warranty service. Neither ASUS, ASUS’ Service Centers, ASUS’ Authorized Service Providers, nor your autho¬rized ASUS product reseller are responsible for any of your confidential, proprietary or personal information contained in the product which you return to ASUS for any reason. You should remove all such informa¬tion from the product prior to its return. ASUS is not responsible for damage or loss of any personal data, programs, or removable storage media. ASUS is not responsible for the restoration or reinstallation of any data or programs other than software installed by ASUS when the product was manufactured.
Before contacting ASUS:
- Back up all your personal data and remove any confidential, proprietary information on the hard drive. ASUS will not be responsible for any loss of your own programs, data or information.
- If you received an error message, write it down with the fault description and include it with the product.
- Retrieve the following information from your ASUS product: operating system version, BIOS version, and notify if you have made any recent hardware or software changes.
- Ensure you have the following information readily available: your ASUS product’s model name, serial number, sales invoice/receipt with date of purchase and warranty card. You will be required to provide proof of purchase before warranty service can be performed.
Make sure you are in front of your ASUS product and have your product turned on (if possible) when you call to perform troubleshooting procedures.
When preparing your product for shipment to ASUS, you will need to observe the following
- ASUS recommends that the product be returned in its original packaging. The original packaging will provide better protection for your product during transit. Warranty may be voided if the product is damaged due to improper packaging. Original packaging may not be retuned once service is completed.
- Please do not send in anything but the product itself unless specially requested by ASUS. Any other items and accessories included in the package received by ASUS will be treated as packaging material, and may not be returned.
